I have a short list of people in the game industry I really admire.
Alex Seropian, founder of Wideload Games (Stubbs the Zombie), has been sort of slowly approaching that status over the last year or two. And now, with this interview, he’s crossed the threshold. Not that this particular interview would blow anyone away, out of context, but it fills in the last gaps I needed to know.
Congratulations, Alex: you are now in the pantheon of my game industry heroes.

Bu-yah, Grandma! (Thanks, Mike, that one will live with me forever)
Thanks for bringing that interview to my attention, Darius. At first it was an odd read, but towards the end it really sparked a few fires I’ve been tending for the last month or so.
In short:
A.) I think Alex, like so many others, misses a key point about the risk reduction argument for episodic games
and on the other hand:
B.) Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Someone else who’s arguing that it’s actually a great time to be in/around the industry right now. (That’s the thing I’ve really been wanting to write about for the last 6 weeks)

More to come!
