I dunno man, I’m sure other people have said as much, but I for one really admire Spec Ops’ callously unsubtle contempt for the player. It’s a game that actively hates and sneers at the person playing it in an openly hostile way, refreshingly devoid of any attempt to be clever or smart. It’s the videogame equivalent of explicitly telling someone that they are a spectacular asshole, rather than passive-aggressively implying as much and taking the risk that they won’t get the hint. But then I’m often frustrated by subtlety, because usually the subject of an intended insult doesn’t even realize they’re being insulted, and where’s the fun in that?

Once I get out of here I’m going to check out the many, many games on this list I missed.
