Hey Darius. I know this blog post is a year old, but I have been using your effective networking guide as a prep before GDC for the previous 2 years, and I am back again this year creating a better resource guide for my students. I teach for DeVry University at the Phoenix campus. Just a heads up for you, and hopefully I can run into you at GDC this year!

I’m a senior at Novato High School and I link your posts to my teacher for students that are interested in pursuing a career in the game industry. Its not part of the curriculum unless the student is chooses.

I teach a class that goes by different names depending on the school, but is basically a survey of the game industry. So, I talk a bit about history, game developer culture, business models… basically, my mission is to get the students to the point where they could go to GDC and talk with actual game developers without embarrassing themselves. And yes, I link to some of your networking articles as required reading. Of course, I can’t really answer your question because I’m freelance and don’t teach for a specific school…

Hey Darius. Champlain College, where I’m a senior in the Game Design program, doesn’t officially use your articles in the curriculum. However, nearly every student in our three game dev majors (design, art, and programming) have been exposed to them one way or another, mostly through my linking it to people constantly. Some of the faculty have also begun recommending them lately.

Not quite what you were looking for, but I figured I’d let you know.
