Canceling My Session At GDC Today

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce that I can’t give my talk at the Game Career Seminar today. I was doing my best to repair my voice by today, and while I’m much much better than I was on Wednesday, I still woke up this morning with a very weak voice.

So, three consolation prizes.
1) The staff at Think Services tells me that they’re going to let GCS attendees go to any other GDC session of their choosing in that time slot. This is a good chance to put in practice some of my networking advice, so that’s good!
2) I’ll be posting a long article here with the content of my talk, when I get around to that.
3) If you really want to meet me, I’ll be hanging out in my scheduled room, 3006, from roughly 2:15 to 3:30 today. I highly recommend going to one of the other GDC sessions over meeting me, but you can drop by around 2:15 and then run off to another session. (Plus you can keep an eye out for the orange guy at other times.)

I caught most of your talk today. I thought you did a pretty good job, considering the circumstances. Here’s to feeling better. Have a safe trip home.

I was the guy that grew up ‘east’ of Boston (whoops). Thanks for the info after the talk, and despite the squeaky voice you did a great job during the talk. I’ll have to keep up on the job market in MA once I get closer to finishing up at DigiPen.

Darius, I just wanted to thank you for sticking it out with the informal talk. When I saw that you were doing a lecture at this GDC I really wanted to hear what you had to say.

Unfortunately I had a follow up question that I wanted to ask you, but it didn’t come to me until you were halfway down the hall after time was up :P
