Remember The Phantom? The purported game console that c. 2005 unseated Duke Nukem Forever as shorthand for “vaporware”? Well, those guys now have a digital game distribution system, and they’re selling a bunch of AAA titles there.

Phantom?
I immediately made fun of Jeff for it: “Hey, the Phantom guys are selling a game you worked on! Hah!” (Fallout 3, for the curious.) And then I noticed that they’re also selling Dungeons & Dragons Online. Whoops. Spoke too soon.
(And look, I don’t actually have a problem with these people selling a game I worked on. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just funny to have a project I worked on associated in some way with the Phantom!)

Funny, I go to their site and it just says “coming in 2009″. Are you sure they’re actually selling something?
I believe they’re bringing the ability of streaming games in 2009. Right now the site is live, altough, at the moment, they’re down for upgrade maintenance.
Say Darius, Isn’t that six degrees of seperation for you, Jeff…and me? B-).
Reminds me a bit of Bitboys Oy and their Glaze3D line of graphics cards, which was slated to be rather cool. I think they actually had some decent tech behind them though; the company ended up getting acquired by AMD. If I remember correctly, they had some former members of Future Crew working for them.
