Wired just published an article about Koji Kondo, the guy who composed the Super Mario Bros. soundtrack (among many other classic games). In the article, this passage jumped out at me:
Kondo doesn’t do much composition anymore — the last game soundtrack that he composed on his own was 1998′s Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. He’d like to write an entire score again, he says, but these days he’s tasked with running the audio department. He’s also overseeing the development of Wii Music, a game due for release this year where players use the Wii remote to bang virtual drums and conduct an orchestra.
Wii Music? Oh, sweet. I am looking forward to that.

I didn’t know there was going to be drumming as well. That’ll be a blast!
Yeah, Wii Music was announced way back before the Wii was launched. I think it’s considered part of the Wii Sports/Wii Play series of Wii-games-for-everyone-by-Nintendo series. Definitely a highly anticipated title.
