I had an exchange with Micheal Mateas in Oregon last june on this topic, and he noted that the complexity of creating cognitive behavior on par with current graphics is much greater than that of rendering technology. Shadow of the Colossus presents a nice solution in the meantime, and stands as a nice constrast to the X360 line-up.
