I’m thinking of enabling word verification for comments (where you have to type in letters from the swirly picture). This has the advantage of foiling most spambots, or so I hear. This also has the disadvantage of making it a little harder for you guys to comment. Does anyone here who isn’t a spambot have any strong objections?

wouldn’t it make sense to only have a captcha for anonymous comments? That way those of us who already post aren’t affected because we have accounts.
I’m with Bradley. I turned them on for a test, and for some reason, they require it for blogger-people posts too. Which makes no sense.
But if you have any anonymous readers who want to post, it might be a good idea. It won’t make me reply less. I didn’t keep it on for my blog because I was worried it would make everyone ELSE reply less.
Because their “words” are often eight characters long and always gibberish. Why don’t they use actual words? :P
Exactly, Craig.
I was going to say pretty much the same.
It would annoy me, since you should be able to turn it off for Bloggers, but it wouldn’t make me post any less.
Why? Because if it’s worth posting to beginw with, it’s worth putting up with the extra field. My recommendation, though, would be to send a comment/complaint to Blogger about letting you exclude Bloggers from it.
